What immunizations must I have to qualify for a hospital volunteer?
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR): proof of 2 vaccinations or positive blood titer
- Varicella (Chicken Pox): proof of 2 vaccinations or positive blood titer
- Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap): must have been administered after 2005 to include the booster for Pertussis or whooping cough
- Flu Shot: required during flu season - As required by state law, anyone who declines a flu shot must sign a declination form and wear a hospital-supplied mask while in areas where patients are seen, evaluated and treated. If you are a volunteer with the Child Life Services Department and decline the flu vaccine, you will need to take a leave of absence during the flu season, per Child Life Services policy.
- Tuberculosis (TB):
- 1 Negative TB skin test within the last three months
- and 1 Negative TB skin test within the last year
- OR 1 Negative QuantiFeron Blood Test and 1 Negative TB skin test within the last three months
- OR Negative chest x-ray report completed within the past year if you have a positive TB skin test result (must provide proof of positive skin test result)
